Smartphone Technology Is Far Beyond Where We Imagined It To Be When Cell Phones First Came Out

Today, there are tens if not hundreds of thousands of repeaters (or more) and more cell phone towers everywhere, it's virtually impossible to go anywhere on the planet where you can't get a signal. In areas where signals are weak on normal cell phones you can find a GPS satellite phone that doesn't use the repeaters or cell towers at all- it literally bounces a strong signal out to the satellite in space and uses IT to broker the phone call connection.

Chances of needing a satellite phone for most people is very low and the network has been slowly getting faster and faster to the point of a 4th generation of network updates (where technology is completely updated to a new version, new equipment, and a much faster connection speed through the air). Smart phones are as powerful today as computers were in the year 2000. That's just the lower end ones. The high end smartphone is as powerful if not more powerful than today's latest computer technologies.

Core Training For Javelin Throwers

Today, core training for javelin can improve how far a javelin thrower throws like never before! Javelin is heavily dependent on the core musculature for optimal performance and having a proper core training program in place can ensure just that for any javelin thrower. Javelin throwers can train their core to better support their backs, to speed up their hips and even to give them more speed on the runway but most importantly, javelin throwers can avoid weakest link syndrome by strengthening their core which allows them to make use of all of their power for massive throws!

Proper core training stabilizes your lower back during a javelin throw. It can help the athlete maintain a bigger, longer more powerful position under more load. It strengthens the abdominals so that they can hang on no matter how hard the javelin thrower drives their hips forward allowing a bigger stretch to be created without jeopardizing the lower back via the abs giving way under pressure. Engaging in a core program also helps the athlete move their hips faster.

Safety at Javelin Training

You've probably all seen those videos of people being hit with javelins, through their body, their leg, etc. etc. Yeah, it's funny for a few seconds but would you really like to be the one hit by the javelin? Or the person who threw the javelin which hit that person?

Probably NOT! Here are some tips to avoid such accidents:

Many javelin throwers will have multiple javelins to throw at training. Many throwers will also be throwing when other people are at the track and possibly throwing also.

As a general rule you should always throw ALL the javelins before going out to collect all of them.
This eliminates the risk of anyone throwing the javelin while someone else is collecting another one.

Never throw a javelin towards someone or have them throw towards you. That is just sheer stupidity. I don't care if they say "you'll never throw it this far!" That's irrelevant, the risk is quite obviously there.

If there are others using the track while you are throwing, try cordoning off the throw zone to prevent people walking across as a short cut.

When collecting javelins be careful where you walk and be aware that you don't collide with the tail end of the javelin protruding from the ground. Walk along side it and pull it out holding the grip. This will avoid pulling it into you. Also if more than one person is collecting place your other hand on the point of the tail of the javelin. This will help avoid injury to anyone who happens to end up standing behind you.
